McKeesport is a city in Allegheny County. It will also be in demand enough to warrant a designation of 11. The city is small, and will be easily serviced. However, there are some points that would also have to be addressed with Versailles which will also receive some bus service with the McKeesport routes. The routes are as follows:
- 11: Walnut – Crawford Village
- 111E: McKeesport Short
- 112E: Lincoln Hwy
- E11: McKeesport Flyer
- E111: McKeesport
- E112: Lincoln Place
11: Walnut – Crawford Village
The 11: Walnut – Crawford Village will replace the 60: Walnut – Crawford Village in its entirety. The only change I can see needing to be done is the schedule being less of a mess, but under ACT – all schedules will have to be made considering that every route will have a different designation, and possibly name.
111E: McKeesport Short / E111: McKeesport
The 111E: McKeesport Short will replace the 61C: McKeesport with exception of its terminate point. As with all Short routes, the 111E: McKeesport Short will terminate at Craft Street. Currently, PRT? has this route serving into Downtown, but there will be a dedicated Oakland route that would take that place. This is to reduce the number of primary routes going into Downtown, and therefore make negotiating for the routes I would want simpler.
The E111: McKeesport will operate as the 61C: McKeesport, but will operate on a less frequent schedule. To keep things simple, there will be 2 111E: McKeesport Shorts followed by 1 E111: McKeesport which will then serve the Oakland Corridor.
112E: Lincoln Hwy
The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will be a replacement for the P76: Lincoln Highway Flyer, but will be a bit different. The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will start at McKeesport Transportation Center, and use Lysle Blvd to connect to Walnut Street. The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will then use Walnut to connect with Olympia Shopping Center. The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will use Jacks Run Road to connect with Lincoln Highway. The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will serve Lincoln Highway and will ride Lincoln Hwy until reaching Wilkinsburg to where it will connect to Wilkinsburg Station of the East Busway. The 112E: Lincoln Hwy will terminate and loop here. Riders that need to go to Downtown will be able to board the E1: East Busway.
E11: McKeesport Flyer
The E11: McKeesport Flyer will replace the P7: McKeesport Flyer in every way, and once the E11: McKeesport Flyer enters Downtown, it will serve the same stops as the Eastern Flyers route. This will allow for some consolidation of the various routes that are mismatched everywhere in Downtown.
E112: Lincoln Place
The E112: Lincoln Place will connect McKeesport with Downtown Pittsburgh in a more efficient way, and without connecting to Oakland. The route will behave almost exactly like the 56: Lincoln Place, but Downtown service will be different. The E112: Lincoln Place will enter into Downtown via Second Avenue, and will turn on Ross Street to connect with Fifth Avenue. From there, it will operate like an Oakland Corridor route until reaching Sixth and Fifth where the E112: Lincoln Place will use Fifth to Ross, and then Ross to Second Avenue. Once the E112: Lincoln Place returns to Second Avenue, the E112: Lincoln Place will return to McKeesport.
